Mark Ryman is serving his ninth year as Pastor of Graham Friends Church (since June 2000). He and his wife, Susan, are originally from Springfield, Ohio, but moved to NC in 1990. Susan is the Administrative Business Manager for the Dean of Arts & Sciences at Duke University. Their youngest daughter, Miriam, and her husband, Dan, are active in the church, and their older daughter, Cristin, and her husband, Matthew, are active in a congregation in Durham. The Rymans moved to Graham in February 2002, to a brand new parsonage, just north of the Meeting House in the historic dictrict of Graham.

     This is Mark’s 4th pastorate. He served the One Way House (now called Fellowship Christian Church) in Springfield, Ohio, for almost 6 years, St Paul United Methodist Church in the same town for 3 years, and Christ UMC in Lakeview, Ohio, for almost 6 years.
     Mark and Susan are both graduates of Ohio Wesleyan University where they each majored in English Literature. Mark received his Master of Arts in Theology from Houston Graduate School of Theology. He is working on a second Masters degree (in Biblical Studies at Carolina Evangelical Divinity School) in preparation for a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from the same seminary.
     Mark is also active in the community by being Chaplain to the Graham Police Department, a Rotarian, and a member of the Graham Business Association. Susan accompanies our worship on the piano and is an Elder in the Meeting.
