Mark
Ryman is serving his tenth year as Pastor of Graham Friends Church
(since June 2000). He and his wife, Susan, are originally from
Springfield, Ohio, but moved to Durham, NC, in
1990. Susan is the Administrative Business Manager for the Dean
of Arts & Sciences at Duke University. Their youngest
daughter, Miriam, and her husband, Dan, are active in the church,
and their older daughter, Cristin, and her husband, Matthew,
are active in a congregation in Durham. The Rymans moved to Graham
in February 2002, to a brand new parsonage, just north of the
Meeting House in the historic dictrict of Graham. They recently
renovated a historic
house
two blocks from the church and are looking for a Youth
Pastor
to move in to the parsonage.
This is Marks 4th pastorate.
He served the One Way House (now called Fellowship Christian Church) in Springfield, Ohio, for
almost 6 years, St Paul United Methodist Church in the same town
for 3 years, and Christ UMC in Lakeview, Ohio, for almost 6 years.
Mark and Susan are both graduates
of Ohio Wesleyan University where they each majored in
English Literature. Mark received his Master of Arts in Theology
from Houston Graduate School of Theology. He is working
on a second Masters degree (in Biblical Studies at Carolina Evangelical Divinity School).
Mark is also active in the community,
being Chaplain to the Graham
Police Department
and a member of the Graham Rotary
Club.
Susan accompanies our worship on the piano and is an Elder in
the Meeting.
