Subsequent photographs are here. Even more...are here.  Well, the original plaque Pastor Mark ordered looked great...except that he wrongly worded it. He doesn't know why he put Dawn's married name before her maiden name...but he did. Duh! It sure was nice work though and he reports that it had been a pleasure to work with Larry at Blue Ridge Fabrication and Design. So he ordered a new sign from them. To our surprise and delight, Larry looked over the church web site—especially this page—and did the new sign for us as a donation to the playground project. They even threw in the shipping. Smith Mullins grew up in Graham Friends Church, graduated from
UNCG, married, moved away with her husband, Mark, and eventually,
with her daughters, Emily and Ellie. When Dawn came back to Graham
Friends for Homecoming or when she came to the area for checkups,
the church always looked forward to seeing her smile and hearing
her sweet voice—because Dawn was not just seen as a child
of God but forever as a child of this church.  Making sure it goes up right    Ken imagines what it's going to look like  The work begins       Steve, Tony, Bobby, and Richard approve of Richard's handiwork  After hours of cutting boards, Ken helps Richard with assembly while Bobby and Tommy stand by.  Ready to lift tower two  Oops. Put the roof on the wrong direction...back down we go  Back up it goes  Putting in the floor boards (perfectly)  Tony admires  Tony sights a true fit   Baba comes out to supervise with Scott    Laying in the side pieces  Butch working in a tower   Cappy finds a screw loose   Getting it square  Time for a little rough-housing with Scott and Steve (somebody call the cops)  Jeff working different locations    Putting up the monkey bars  Many hands make light work.  It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's just Scott on the phone.  Ken and Tony work differents sides of the boards.   Scott brings a load to the work sight. (Take it the way you need to...)  Oh, boy.         What's everyone staring at down there?  Are you sure it says THIS END UP?  Looks like inspiration for a carnival game.  Do I have to come home already, Trish?  Replace the post with a shovel and what've you got?  Okay; are you sure that's what it says? Maybe we should let Richard hold the plans again.        Some church and neighborhood kids help.  Jaime, Jessica, and Jeff put their backs into it.   Scott enjoys a little snack while Tony, Jeff, and Jaime spread mulch...  ...but Baba doesn't mind. That's Sgt. Shirley hoping Baba drops the fries.      Someone who doesn't attend Graham Friends said the other day, "Your church sure is growing." I said, "Yes, but how do you know that?" She said, "All you have to do is drive by and you can tell."  It even makes the building look bigger.   It's really coming together. We just have to stretch the chain-link, hang the gates, and attach the slides.  Wow! Do the little kids love this "go-round" thingy...  Four benches await adults who want to watch but not play.
