On Palm Sunday 2008, Graham Friends once again decorated its Floral Cross. Years ago, Myrll Layton had the idea
to create this annual witness to the empty cross and the new life of resurrection. Wny do we still do it every year?
Because if we have joined with Jesus in his death, we will be united with him in his resurrection. We understand
that our old self was nailed to the cross with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed and no longer
be enslaved to sin. When a person dies, he is set free from sin. Since we have died with Christ, we believe
that we will also live with him. We know that Jesus was raised from the dead and will never die again
because death no longer has any power over him. The death he died he died to sin, once for all of us,
but the life he lives he now lives in God. So we too must consider ourselves dead to sin
and alive in God through Jesus Christ. (from Romans 6:5-11)
