Midweek Bible Classes

Past Midweek studies have included “Great Hymns of the Faith,” the Mayberry Bible Study, and discussions of Oswald Chamber’s devotional, My Utmost for His Highest. We have studied the major doctrines of different denominations and the beliefs of Islam and Judaism. We enjoyed a year-long survey of the Old Testament and a half-year survey of the New Testament. We also completed a half-year study of The Revelation. We have completed all of the 40-some Faith Lessons (a video series taught by Ray Vander Laan). Some of us enjoyed this so much that we recently went to hear him lecture in Matthews, NC. In January of 2008 we learned about how we came to receive an English translation of the Bible and in February, how we came to have these 66-books in the Bible.
Starting in March of 2008 we will try something a bit more relaxed: The Gospel According to Beaver. We'll watch an episode of "Leave it to Beaver" each week and discuss the theme from a biblical perspective.
Midweek classes meet at two times each Wednesday. The 11:00am study is followed by a free community lunch, prepared by the pastor. The evening study is at 7:00pm, preceded by a free family dinner at 6:00pm, prepared by the pastor.

Sunday School

Christian education is vital and is available for children, youth, and adults at 10:00am each Sunday. There is an adult class, a ladies class, an introduction to the Faith class, a preschool class, and an elementary class. These classes are Bible-based and designed to enrich your relationship with God.

Sunday Services

Sunday morning worship is at 11:00am. Pastor Mark preaches encouraging and challenging messages from the Bible. Pastor Mark has been teaching through the letter to the Galatians and punctuates this series with occasional topical messages.

Our worship style is traditional but often includes a mixture of praise choruses and hymns. Solos, duets, choir (adult and children) regularly bless us with special numbers.
    Not only is there g
reat music and Bible teaching but there is a full children's program, including a Children's Chat.

Children's Groups

Vacation Bible School is held during the Summer. In addition to that and weekly Sunday School, the children meet every Wednesday at 6:30pm for Fun & Friends, a fun and educational event. These events vary to include games, crafts, snacks, Christian education, and outings.

Women's & Men's Groups

There are 2 Ladies’ Missionary Circles that meet once a month on Tuesday morning and evening. These women of faith help look after individual members of the church family as well as meeting for devotions and prayer and the study and support of world missions. They also enjoy a meal together. The Quaker Men meet the first Saturday of each month for breakfast and devotions (and sometimes a work project) at 8am.

Sports

We have a Division 3 co-ed team in the Fall and a Division 1 men's team in the Spring and Fall. Both of these teams play in the Burlington Rec league. The Division 1 team won the Fall championship in 2006.
     The church also
bowls on Thursday nights.

Information is available about any of the above

emailing or telephoning the church.
